PIA added two Boeing aircraft on wet lease


PIA has inducted two latest, state of the Art Boeing 737-800 in its fleet. The fuel efficient aircraft of Boeing 737 NG Family will greatly benefit PIA in terms of fuel efficiency and savings.
Secretary Aviation & Chairman PIA, Muhammad Ali Gardezi inspected the aircraft on arrival at Jinnah International Airport.  Managing Director PIA, Muhammad Junaid Yunus and senior officials of the airline were also present during the aircraft inspection.

Chairman PIA, Muhammad Ali Gardezi while sharing his views on the arrival of these aircraft, said that PIA will now be in a better position to offer more flight frequencies to passengers. He said that these fuel efficient aircraft are planned for deployment on Gulf and major domestic routes. He instructed the concerned officials to speed up the necessary formalities so that these aircraft may be deployed for operation without any delay.
Managing Director PIA, Muhammad Junaid Yunus thanked Chairman PIA for his cooperation for induction of these aircraft in PIA fleet.
The Boeing 737-800 has a capacity of 189 seats and will be operated with all economy. These aircraft have been acquired from Corendon Airlines of Turkey whereas PIA will be receiving two more alike aircraft also on Damp Lease from Travel Services of Republic of Czech due to arrive next week.
The airline has recently introduced additional frequencies on flights to Toronto and Kuala Lumpur. With the increase in the number of aircraft in PIA fleet, the airline will offer flights to new destinations while increasing frequencies of flights on its existing profitable routes.--
