Karachi:
Pakistan Telecom Authority is facing deep financial crisis due to which authority
functions came to halt.
Sources in
Pakistan telecom authority told our
reporter that authority is working without a leaders as three major posts are
vacant for last several months. Due to this budget of fiscal year 2013-14 not
able to approve till date.
On the start of
every fiscal year it is legal requirement that authority budget must be
approved by the members and chairman. In the absence of these key personalities
no one have the legal power to approve the budget. PTA director finance inform minister
of IT and Telecom about the crisis
rising in the authority. But no move observe till date.
Due to non
approval of budget PTA is unable to pay the salary of its employees and daily
expanses.
When contacted
PTA spokesperson Khurram Mahran confirmed that authority is facing financial
problems. On sms he inform that all efforts are put in to resolve the
issue.
